Description

Offered for sale:

Used 1967 Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman serial number 87391.

This guitar is in very good condition, neck and frets are fine. Cosmetically showing playing time, some marks and nicks. There is a chip on the back of the headstock and the pickguard has some cracking. The gold plating shows wear. The binding exhibits the usual deterioration. Included is a photo of the two most significant binding flaws. We would rate the rest of the binding at 8 or 9 of 10. Most notedly the painted “ƒ” holes have been cut out to create real “ƒ”.

Now the rest of the story:

The signature tone and feel, and “that great Gretsch sound” is all here in this iconic Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. Features include an all-maple design with a three-piece neck set into the body for big, open tone. The natural tone is amplified by a pair of Gretsch Filter'Tron pickups.

The Rocking Bar bridge, Bigsby tailpiece and string damper, gold plexi pickguard with Gretsch logo and Chet Atkins signature all add to the unique personality of the G6122.

Additional features include gold hardware, a rounded Maple neck with white binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with Neo-Classic "Thumbnail" inlays. Bound headstock with mother of pearl Gretsch logo & gold-plated name plate. Grover Imperial tuners, 1 11/16" nut width, 24 3/4" scale length.

The electronics feature original Gretsch FilterTron humbuckers with 3-way pickup and tone selector switches, along with standby switch, and G-Arrow knobs, 2x individual volume, 1x master.

This is a nice playing and great sounding Gretsch, if you don’t give an “F” about the “F holes” come get it!

Original hard-shell case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
