2004 Ibanez AS83L-VLS-12-01 Left Handed Violin Sunburst

Used 2004 Ibanez AS83L-VLS-12-01 serial number S04073036.

This Left-handed AS83 is in excellent condition, showing limited playing time.

The AS83 is part of the Artcore series. This China production hollow body was introduced in late 2003 and continued through 2006.

Featuring a full-sized, double-cutaway, semi-hollow body with a laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides. Mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and abalone block position markers.

Components include a pair of Ibanez Artcore humbucking pickups with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, ivory plastic pickup rings and nut, a Tune-o-matic style bridge with a Quik Change tailpiece, speed knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines with half-moon buttons.

This is a beautiful “lefty” in the style of an ES but with a down to earth price tag.

Looks, plays and sounds sweet!

Interesting back story. Back in 2004 the original owner bought 2 AS83 lefties for himself and 2 righties for his brother.
The plan was to highly modify one lefty and one righty (additional switches, hardware, etc) and keep one lefty and one righty a’’ original.
Well the Bros loved their mods so much that after 16 years they never played the originals.
We just sold the righty and the lefty is looking for a home. And it don’t mind being played either.
