Offered for sale:

Vintage 1990’s Prescription Electronics Experience pedal.

This pedal is in good condition. This is not a currently available reissue; this is an original run version.

These 90’s original versions had hand painted finishes, so no two are identical.

Also, our research indicates that the earliest ones had no jack for external power, only the on board 9v battery. We have combed through many photos and articles regarding these units and have seen ones both with and without the external power option. Our thoughts are that the power jack was either added towards the later section of the production run or added by some individual owners.

From 1993 through to 2014, Jack Brossart built pedals under the Prescription Electronics Inc. banner drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking tones of the late 60’s, specifically those of Jimi Hendrix but also Yardbirds-era Jimmy Page and Peter Green. These pedals found favor with artists such as Robert Quine, Doyle Bramhall II and Eric Johnson and have enjoyed a cult following amongst pedal enthusiasts.

The Experience pedal is one of the octave fuzz pedals designed and built by Jack. Ostensibly based on the Foxx Tone Machine, the pedal features switches for Fuzz, Octave and Swell (similar in function to the Boss Slow Gear, designed to change the signal attack and mimic a quasi-backwards effect) with four controls on the side.

Specific finishes were not exclusive to certain models but each pedal featured a unique handprinted finish, particularly in the early days.

This is a fantastically gnarly fuzz, chewy and delicious, grilling your signal to perfection. The octave launches us into Band of Gypsies territory, yielding wild tones all over the neck. The Swell (only works when all three switches are engaged) gives us a little something extra, altering the initial attack of the note to make it feel a bit more backwards, a little more psychedelic!

A must for fuzz aficionados, the Experience pedal should be on everyone’s wish list.

Considering the rarity of an original version, this is even more interesting than the new versions!

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.”
