Offered for sale:

Used Avante Gryphon Hi-D 12 string serial number P-887.

This Avante Gryphon Hi-D 12 string by Veillette Guitars is in excellent condition showing very limited playing time. The bridge started to lift and Joe Veillette himself did the reglue (his facility is not far from us).

Featuring a solid Spruce top, solid Mahogany back and sides, a Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard and Rosewood bridge, 32.5” overall length and an 18 1/8” scale with a nut width of 1 15/16” and a fretboard radius of 14”.

Gryphons offer players a whole new tonality with mandolin-like punch, and a shimmering, naturally chorused top end character. Guitarists can immediately play mandolin-style parts in a new high register without learning a new tuning and even mandolin players will discover new horizons, including the ability to play guitar-like or fingerstyle patterns in a mandolin tonality and range.

As a songwriting tool, for doubling or layering in studio, its bell-like high end can be the perfect addition to a track. Even as a compact traveling companion this instrument excels as a guitarist-friendly alternative to traditional folk instruments like the bouzouki, mandocello, and Cuban tres and cuatro.

Gryphons are designed for D tuning (equivalent to the 10th fret of a standard guitar). This unique range is made possible by its short scale length and custom strings. The Gryphon can be tuned to Hi-E or capoed at the 2nd fret for E tuning but using the Hi-D inversions definitely gives it a very unique voicing.

Handcrafted in Korea under exclusive license to Veillette. This instrument maintains the exacting standards of the Veillette facility in Woodstock NY.

If you are always looking for something different in an instrument consider this beauty!

Hard bag included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
