Description

Here is a beautifully crafted F-5 style mandolin from renowned Seattle archtop builder Steve Andersen. Excellent spruce top with beautiful vivid gradated red amber color. Subtly figured maple back and sides. Three-ply binding with w/b/w motif. Andersen inlaid in pearl in peghead over a tasteful abalone and mother of pearl inlay. Gold Schaller tuners. Gold Price straight-line tailpiece. Ebony fingerboard. The condition is excellent with only one or two small dings on the body and one on the headstock. A little tarnish showing on the tailpiece. Great voice, open, lively, nice chop. 1-1/16" at the nut. Number 52 built in 1982. It’s my understanding that Steve quit building these in 1994. They rarely change owners. On consignment.
