Description

SN: 685. ON HOLD. Nearly new Wayne Henderson in Koa in collaboration with luthier Jayne Henderson. My understanding is that Wayne built and finished the box and Jayne provided the appointments. Stunning back and sides are highly figured, perfectly book matched, divided by a colorful arrowhead strip. The top is a Smoky Mountain Adi finished in sunburst and trimmed 42-style in abalone. A faux-tortoise guard and classic Martin-style belly bridge (but with usual Henderson pin placement and scalloped south edge). The neck has a modified V profile with volute, slotted headstock, and gold Waverlys. The inlaid position markers are a unique design and the Koa headstock is adorned with a flowering inlay. Every edge of the guitar is bound in ivoroid. The nut is 1 ¾”, the string spacing at the bridge 2 3/8”, the scale length is 25 ¼”. The tone? Close your eyes and you’d think it was a dreadnaught. Great bottom end, mid-range attack, clarity. And, it’s young and still developing. Great in open tunings. Powerful in drop-D. Comes with a new, good quality Guardian case. Consignment. Price reduced from $18,500 to $16,500.

Thanks for visiting.
