1964 Mosrite Ventures Sidejack Bass Sunburst

This is an original early issue Mosrite Ventures Bass with the earliest features - set neck, bound body, and side jack input jack. We're not sure exactly how many of these were made, but its dozens if even, certainly well under 100. Mosrites are one of the quirkier American brands from the 1960's and among their quirks is that they were frequently sent back to Semie Moseley for upgrades. This is one such instrument - it was sent back to him in the later 60's to have a second pickup added. When he had it he replaced the original pickup with a new pickup to match the second, he added a selector switch and he replaced the tuners. Aside from that the other parts appear original and, as stated, all the mods were done by Mosrite in the 60's. This is a rare bass and it plays and sounds great. It has been pro-setup and is in very fine playing condition. It comes with a non original hard case.
