This Rickenbacker 1998 was made in the USA in 1966. According to the Rickenbacker book 50 of these were made in 1966 in this early autumnglo finish which is different from later autumnglo finishes. This is one of the guitars associated with Pete Townshend and it is the one Rickenbacker subsequent re-issued as the Pete Townshend model. This guitar shows considerable play wear, but there is no structural damage. There is a circle in the finish on the upper horn where a sticker used to be. It is all original although it is missing the original vibrato arm. It comes with the original case.
