We're an independent music store located in the heart of Lawrence, Kansas - just a stone's throw from Kansas City and Topeka. You'll find us at the corner of 14th & Mass. Street. For over 30 years, we've been the quality resource for musicians to find great gear and get exceptional repair work done. Whether it's a guitar for your child, your first banjo or your dream guitar, we strive to provide the best electric and acoustic guitars, amps, folk instruments, pedals, pickups and more - plus the best service around. What sets us apart from other stores is our unique selection of gear, knowledgeable staff, and our dedication to helping you get what you're looking for - and you'll always get a free set up on new gear from one our luthiers.

We are happy to do custom and special orders (it's a specialty of ours actually) and our Repair department is second to none - from strap buttons and pickup installations to mods to full restorations. We have a well-considered collection of gear in our store, at many different price levels – a 'starter guitar' is treated with as much care and consideration as boutique electric or acoustic, or a prized vintage Martin. Every new instrument gets a free set up from one of our four luthiers too. All used gear is carefully assessed by our staff and luthiers, before it ever goes on the floor or online. Lawrence has a vibrant music community – and has for decades. We're proud to be part of it. We love playing music and we want you to too!

In most cases shipping is on us! Any new or used gear (purchased directly from our website) $25 or over gets shipped to you for FREE via one of our favorite carriers, Fed Ex – ground or USPS, to all 'lower 48' U.S. states. Alaska and Hawaii. Expedited shipping, international shipping are more. If you'd like your item quicker, no problem! It will cost a bit more, but you'll have it in your hands before you know it. We can ship all forms of UPS and Fed Ex Express and we'll send you tracking info too, so you can see exactly when it'll arrive. Please note that we are not able to ship to P.O. Boxes, and sorry, no C.O.D.s no way, no how. For your gear's safety, we have to have a valid address where a real person can sign for the gear when it arrives. If that doesn't work for you, we are happy to ship it to the nearest carrier's hub so you can pick it up safe and sound there. Questions? All purchases come with a full 7 day evaluation time period after payment in full has been made. An extra 24 hours will be added during the winter season to allow the contents to reach room temperature before opening - the evaluation period does not begin until you've received the instrument.</p> <p>If you're not completely satisfied with the instrument, it can be returned using your preferred carrier for a full refund unless other arrangements have been explicitly made. To return an item, please call us (1-800-747-9980) for a return authorization and pack the instrument in its original carton, with all accessories and paper work, and ship it back to us. (Please note it must be insured for the full sales amount). Just give us a call if you have any questions about correct packing etc. We're happy to help. If the item is damaged while in transit, we will ask you to file a claim with your preferred shipper. Once we receive the instrument in its original condition, you will get a full refund, less any applicable shipping charges. If the item is not in its original condition or is returned after the normal evaluation period has expired, re-stocking fees and other charges may apply - confused by the fine print?
