Description

If you like your Strats with a healthy neck carve, please read on. Offered is this marvelous Heavy Relic Stratocaster team-built at the Custom Shop in 2012. Loosely based on a 1960 Strat reissue, this guitar has: a two piece Alder body with heavily aged Olympic White lacquer finish and a total guitar weight of 7.75 pounds; a large '51 U-shaped neck with most of the finish removed and depth measurements of .950" at the first fret increasing to just over 1.00" at the twelfth fret; a lovely dark Rosewood fingerboard with 9.50" radius, medium/jumbo frets and 1.650" nut; and for electronics, 60's single coils with RWRP middle pickup and on-board active mid-boost electronics. I liked this Strat as soon as I picked it up - the neck carve feels so good, like a small Nocaster neck. This one sounds particularly good too, even before the mid-boost is activated for an additional sonic punch. The vintage vibe is quite evident with the guitar as well, the aging, while heavy, has been very tastefully done and this guitar looks and feels like the real deal. The frets are in superb shape and show little if any wear. Comes with its original brown G&G case, the certificate of authenticity, factory spec sheet and accessories. This one is for those who like a large neck carve, and if you do, this is one highly recommended Custom Shop Strat!
