Description

Based on Stevie Ray Vaughan’s famed “Number One” Stratocaster, this SRV Signature model from the fine folks at Fender features gold hardware, a 3-ply pickguard with “SRV” engraved into the lower treble-hand side, and a beautiful 3-tone sunburst finished alder body. Vaughan had collaborated with Fender shortly before his untimely passing, with the official SRV Signature Stratocaster debuting a couple years later in 1992. Another interesting feature is the inverted vibrato arm placement, sitting on the bass-hand side as opposed to the treble hand side, exactly how SRV kept his set-up. The ’60s “oval” shape maple neck sports a Pau Ferro (rosewood variant) finger board with 21 6105 jumbo frets. It has a 25.5” scale and measures 1 11/16th” at the nut. The trio of Texas Special single coil Strat pickups sound fantastic, full of Vaughan’s blistering bluesy tone. Cosmetically it has a few finish dings and scratches, especially on the upper horn on the top of the body and one on the inner part of the contour on the back of the body. Otherwise it is in great shape. It plays great with comfortable action and has been strung with round wound 10s. It weighs in at just about 8 ½ lbs. Whether you are a die-hard SRV fan or just in the market for a solid, great sounding American Stratocaster, you’ll want to give this baby a spin! Includes Fender hard shell case.
