Description

For your consideration is this marvelous 1972 Fender Telecaster with Maple fretboard. I've been on a Tele kick lately and quickly fell for this lovely, (nearly) 50 year old beauty.

This guitar is serial number 328353 and appears to be entirely original. It has a January, 1972 neck date and pots which date to that huge cache Fender purchased in 1966. It has an Ash body with a well-yellowed Blonde finish. The Maple neck has a large C shape with depth measurements of .889" at the first fret increasing to .975" at the twelfth fret. It is relatively light and weighs just 7.4 pounds (7 pounds, 7 ounces) and is nicely balanced.

This guitar's light weight and big neck immediately caught my attention. It plays great and the tone, particularly that of the neck pickup, is fabulous. Please check out the brief sound sample below. This vintage beauty sings!

This guitar is in very good condition. The finish still shines, but the body edges show some through the finish wear in the typical areas (see photos). The original frets show some wear, but still have lots of life left in them. In comes in its original and well-worn black tolex case with the amp logo and orange interior (and no foul smoke odors).

If you are going to invest in a Telecaster, this affordable classic warrants your consideration. Vintage vibe just drips from this great playing and great sounding Telecaster. Make it yours!
