  • Description: Gibson‚Äôs ES-175 is, in a way, comparable to Fender‚Äôs Telecaster‚Äîlong-running, distinctive and versatile, resistant to change in features, a working musician‚Äôs guitar. But, of course, the ES-175 is its own bird, and this model is an unusual one, appearing with not one but two P-90 pickups (but distinct from the ES-175D, which appeared in 1953). This makes it an even more versatile guitar, similar to the coveted ES-295 and to our ES-125CD, but retaining the classic look with its split-parallelogram inlays and three-diamond tailpiece. Playing this guitar is very comfortable, even though it‚Äôs in nice shape‚Äîthe narrow original frets have some life left, and both P-90s sound excellent. With only faint checking on the body, this is an unusual, versatile piece for someone who wants an ES-175 with a twist. Summary Body: Hollowbody with laminated maple top, maple back and sides. Sunburst finish. Sharp Florentine cutaway. Neck: Mahogany with bound rosewood fretboard, bound neck, split-parallelogram inlays. Wider, round profile. Pickups/Hardware: Two P-90s with full tone. Nickel hardware. Three-diamond tailpiece. Setup/Playability: Fast neck with original frets, comfortable for both twangy leads and rhythm strumming. Cosmetic Condition: Faint checking on body. No neck wear, a few buckle scratches on the back. Modifications: None. Weight: 5lbs 14oz
