2003 Gibson Memphis Es-137 Custom Heritage Burst, Excellent, Original Hard, $2,400.00

A modern and welcome addition to Gibson’s long history of top-quality hollow and semi-hollow-bodied guitars, the Memphis-manufactured Es-137 Custom features gold hardware, a bound Laminated Curly Maple body, and Gibson ’57 Classic humbucking pickups. The 3-piece neck sports a bound Ebony fingerboard with Pearloid Split-Diamond Inlays, the classic Gibson Custom headstock inlay, and a nut width of 1 11/16th”. It has a nice rounded 1959 neck profile, somewhere between a ‘50s neck and a ‘60s neck in terms of overall feel. It has a very playable 24 3/4th” scale. The body sports a beautiful Burst finish that helps the Curly Maple grain really pop off the top, especially under stage-level lighting. A Mahogany center block serves to greatly reduce feedback issues. A 6-way Varitone switch gives you a great deal of tonal control over the ’57 Classic pickups, allowing for a wide variety of tones. It’s this versatility that makes the 137 an excellent guitar for a multitude of playing styles, from jazz to classic rock to country and/or blues. Turn the volume down on the neck for a perfect jazzy tone or switch to the bridge position and crank it for some crunchy rock goodness. The 22 medium-jumbo frets have minimal use and tons of life left. It has been professionally set-up by our in-house guitar tech and plays like a dream with very comfortable action. It weighs in at a hair under 9 lbs (8lbs 15 ounces). Cosmetically it is nice and shiny with the only noticeable issue being what looks like some light finish checking in the back of the body and back of the headstock. It was kept in such fine condition that it even still has the protective plastic wrap over the 3-ply pickguard! Overall the Es-137 is a fantastic addition to the long line of top-of-the-line Gibson hollow body guitars! With its Florentine cutaway, humbucking pickups, gold hardware, and beautifully finished top it’s a piece that can’t be beat! Includes original hard shell case
