Description

Here is a very cool all-original German-built HOFNER Violin Bass made in 1970 with a serial number of 1152. This one plays great and has the excellent warm and woody thump that these basses are famous for. It has an enclosed hollow body with a spruce top. The electronics all work fine and the pick-ups are especially good. The neck is smooth and it’s a breeze to play all around the rosewood fingerboard. This Hofner has beautifully aged white binding and 22 frets, plus a zero fret for smoother playing, improved intonation, and better sustain. There are a few scratches on the back of the body and what looks like a light impression from a strap likely left with it in the case. There is also a finish crack in the headstock that runs up under the D and G tuners. Everything is original including the bright pearloid pickguard and the control panels, pick-ups, knobs and electronics. It is not one of the original early run Hofners but by the time this one was made they had worked all the kinks out. with the original hardshell case! Call or email for more details!
