Description

I came across this unique R. Taylor Style 1 and immediately knew I had to have it for our inventory. This beautiful Grand Symphony-size instrument has been built with: a lovely straight-grained Adirondack Spruce top; an exquisite set of highly flamed African Mahogany for the back and sides; black Ebony for the fingerboard, headstock overlay, bridge and binding; and violet Abalone for the rosette. The bone nut measures 1.75", the scale length is 25.5" and the string spacing is 2 3/16". The neck shape is R. Taylor's "Standard" carve as found on most Taylor products. The tuners are fabulous Gotoh 510's. This tone wood combination gives this instrument a marvelous sound that is both crisp and woody. As you would expect from Bob Taylor, the playability is superb and the Florentine cutaway allows great upper-fret access. This guitar is elegantly styled with minimal decoration that allows the superb woods to show themselves off. If you cannot decide between an OM and a dreadnought, this might be the guitar for you. It would make a superb fingerstyle guitar with lots of clarity and shimmer, but has the volume you might expect when flat picking a dread. This beauty has seen only light play and is in superb condition with virtually no flaws of any significance for me to highlight and the frets show little wear too. It comes with it's original Ameritage case in similarly fine condition. What a superb acoustic!
