Meet  "Cracktop" an original 1953 Trap Goldtop that has been converted to the 1957 PAF specs.
The conversion started with an original 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop (S/N 3 xxxx) that had no breaks, cracks or repairs. The top carve on this guitar is deep and very distinguishable.
Conversion work includes: neck reset, neck tenon changed to 4 degrees, plug and route for humbuckers, guitar weighs 8lbs 12 oz.  All woods are Original  to the guitar: (mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, Holly headstock veneer, body binding, Brazilian fingerboard, inlays & binding). The 53 S/N was inked back onto the guitar.
Original Parts Include: Tuners, strap buttons, truss rod cover, toggle switch, tip & harness, Recut Pickguard, Backplates, Trap End Plate, Knobs, All screws except the 8 ring screws. 
Repro parts are:  CreamTone ABR1 Bridge &  featherweight tailpiece, Retrospec 1” bushings and 1-1/2" studs, Wolfetone "Legends"  59 PAF Style pickups, Refret with Jescar Nickel/Silver 57110 fret wire, CTS Premium 500K Pots & Luxe Bumble Bees, HS case.

Goldtop finish was done by Historic Makeovers, COA included
