Description

Near pristine 1965 Airline 3/4 scale Resoglass electric guitar! This rare short scale (22 1/4") instrument was produced by Valco in Chicago. The "Airline" name was exclusive to the Montgomery Ward catalog and should not be confused with the current line of Airline instruments produced overseas. This is a genuine, USA made Airline guitar with two very powerful Gold foil single coil pickups!
The neck has a comfortable, slim C profile with a gorgeous thick, slab Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The original frets are not divited down near the nut and show virtually no wear up the neck.
All of the electronics work as they should, and the pickups have wonderful sparkle and clarity, with full low end and great punch. The wiring harness is untouched, with 3 original CTS pots and one Stackpole pots that date to late 1965. The original knobs, pickguard, pickup covers and tailpiece are also intact. The Resoglass body is structurally sound, with no cracks and the original white rubber piping that separates the two halves is also present and does a great job of accenting the black finish on the body. Cosmetically, the guitar is in fine shape, just two small cracks at the tips of the pickguard from the top screws.

With original chipboard case, which seems to have taken the brunt of the wear.
