Description

Offered is another fabulous example of playable fine art from the bench of master craftsman and luthier, Matt Artinger. Each guitar that Matt builds is a one-of-a-kind instrument. This magnifcent Semi-Hollowbody Convertible was built in 2016 and is in fantastic condition.

This guitar has a semi-hollow Mahogany body topped with a fabulous quilted Maple top finished in Raspberry. It has a unique removable sound port in the lower bout. The body is 13.25" wide at the lower bout and is approximately 1.75" deep. It has a short (25") string scale, 22 frets, medium fret wire and a 1.655" nut width. The Mahogany neck is reinforced with carbon fiber and has a medium C shape with depth measurements of .840" at the first fret, increasing to .920" at the twelfth fret. It has a Gotoh Tune-O-Matic style bridge combined with an archtop style Ebony tailpiece. The electronics include two Electrinc City / Artinger humbucking pickups, volume controls for each pickup, a master tone control, a 3-way toggle switch and a three-way mini toggle for each pickup. The mini toggles allow you to switch between the upper coil, the lower coil and full humbucking with each pickup. The guitar has a total weight of just 6 pounds, 15 ounces. The body, fingerboard and headstock are trimmed with Ebony and the fingerboard, tailpiece and headstock overlay are all made from Ebony. It has nickel Gotoh 510 tuners with Ebony buttons.

I am really impressed with Matt's work, as evidenced by the fact that we have several examples of his work in our inventory right now. Each of his guitars is a one-of-a-kind work of luthier art. And they play and sound even better than they look! Please check out the brief sound sample included in this listing. With it's unique wiring, there are seemingly endless tones you can get from this guitar. And if you want a more "open" voice, just pop off the body sound port to give your tone a bit more air. This guitar can do it all!

This beautify archtop remains in near mint condition. It shows no flaws of any significance and the frets looks like new as well. It comes in it's original Cedar Creek case, also in excellent condition.

A guitar like this commissioned today would likely cost you around $7K. Get this near mint 2016 example for lots less. Just a magnificent and unique semi-hollow electric. Make it yours!
