SOLD. SN: 65056. 1935 was a fantastic year for all things Martin and this little beauty is no exception. This small bodied “student model” made of all mahogany has, over time, blossomed into a punchy powerhouse with eighty years of seasoning. It is responsive to the touch, shows great cut, clarity and dynamic range. Volume-wise it punches well above its weight. The all-mahogany body has a simple sound hole rosette, Rosewood bridge and fingerboard, small MOP position markers and simply plated individual tuners. The nut width is 1-3/4” and the neck is the highly desirable modified V that has that great vintage feel. String spacing at the bridge is just less than 2-3/8” making it a fingerpicker’s delight. There’s a fresh neck reset and refret by master luthier Mark Tossman. The setup is completely dialed in to the original specs with a very comfortable playing action. The condition is superb save for a bump on the back edge of the upper bout probably done by the original “student”. While the side of the guitar has other light scratches and a few dings, the rest of the guitar is quite clean. Comes with a new Guardian Vintage Series case.
