Description

Offered is this superb little Collings, an 01 12-Fret built in 2016 and in virtually unplayed condition. This is a small body, short scale, 12-fret instrument with string spacing which will appeal primarily to fingerstyle players, although it is a great flatpicker as well!

The 01 12 Fret has a body length of 19", a lower bout width of 13-3/4" and a body depth of 4" and a total length of 37-3/4". It has a scale length of 24-7/8" and this example was ordered with a 1-3/4" nut width. The top is Sitka Spruce and the back and sides are made of Honduran Mahogany. The fretboard, pyramid style bridge, the headstock overlay and the bridge and end pins are made of Ebony. The 12-fret Honduran Mahogany neck has Collings' Modified V shape with 2-5/16" string spacing. The Ebony fretboard has a 14"-26" compound radius with vintage style Abalone diamond and square inlays. It has a slotted headstock and the tuners are nickel Waverly side mounts.

This lovely little 01 has a marvelous tone which is balanced, crisp and woody. Despite it's small size, you will be amazed at how much output you get from this instrument. Listen to the provided sound sample to hear for yourself! It is very responsive, even to the lightest level of attack with finger or flatpick. With it's small body size, short string scale and 12-fret geometry, it is extremely comfortable to play. It is perfectly setup up with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side.

The condition of this guitar is about as close to new as a previously-owned instrument can be. It shows no flaws of any significance and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's similarly mint Collings/TKL hardshell case. A new example of this instrument costs approximately $4,500 but this flawless 2016 example can be yours for far less.

This Collings 01 12 Fret is a fantastic small body guitar in as new condition. Make this beauty yours. You will love it!
