2013 Collings 360 ST One piece Ash Body Mary Kaye Transparent, Near Mint, Original Hard, $2,599.00
Offered for sale is a very cool Collings solid body model you don't see all that often, a 360 ST. The 360 is an offset solid body guitar with a carved arch top and a set neck. In the ST configuration, the 360 is given a Strat-style setup. This is the first of these that I've tried, but let me tell you, I am now a believer!
This beautiful guitar has a one-piece Ash body with contouring and a Mary Kaye transparent blonde nitrocellulose finish. It has a 25-1/2" string scale and a total weight of just 7.2 pounds. The neck is made of highly flamed Maple with a new neck shape for Collings, a soft V-shape with depth measurements of .865" at the first fret and increasing to .967" at the twelfth fret. It has a gorgeous dark Indian Rosewood fretboard with a 12" radius, medium frets and 1-11/16" Delrin nut. It has a Gotoh trem bridge with a steel block and a drop-in arm. The tuners are Collings/Gotoh units with ivoroid buttons. For electronics, the 360 ST gets three Lollar Blackface single coils with Bakelite covers and outputs of 6.3k (neck), 6.4k (middle) and 7.7k (bridge) along with CTS 500k pots and Xicon caps. Controls include master volume, master tone and a five-way blade switch.
This guitar plays like warm butter. Collings' impeccable build quality and the Plek job they give these guitars makes for an instrument that nearly plays itself. This guitar is very responsive to your level of attack. The tone is rich and clear with lots of chime. Check out the short sound sample provided; this guitar sounds superb!
This guitar is in near mint condition with just light scuffs on the plastic back plate. In other respects it shows little to no evidence of wear and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's similarly mint Collings/Ameritage case along with the trem arm and tools.
A new example of this guitar with it's transparent finish and one-piece Ash body would cost you $3,800 but this lightly played 2013 example can be had for quite a bit less. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
