Description

Offered is this superb 2017 Collings City Limits. The City Limits is Collings' version of the venerable Les Paul, but with a build quality, playability and tone that many players feel are far better than the original.

This guitar has been given a superbly "aged" nitrocellulose lacquer finish with lots of subtle finish checking that give it a marvelous "worn-in" look and feel. Other vitals include: a solid Honduran Mahogany body and neck; a premium flame Maple top; a total guitar weight of just 8.2 pounds; an Indian Rosewood fretboard with 24-7/8" scale length, 12" radius, 1-11/16" bone nut, parallelogram MOP inlays and medium frets; a medium/fat "C" shape neck similar to a '59 LP; extra long mortise/tenon neck joint; fully-adjustable truss rod; ivoroid binding on the top and neck; ebony headstock overlay with inlaid MOP logo; cream pickup rings, pickguard and tuner buttons; and for electronics, Lollar Imperial humbuckers with aged covers, 50's style wiring with CTS 500K pots and Jupiter caps.

This guitar plays with incredible ease and sounds fabulous - much like an LP only better! Few LP's can match the performance and playability of this guitar, particularly at this price point. The very realistic finish checking and patina that Collings has given this guitar make for an instrument that looks and feels like a vintage piece.

Other than the factory aging, this guitar is in near mint condition and the frets are spotless. This fabulous guitar comes in an equally fabulous Collings case by Ameritage, along with the original paperwork.
