2017 Collings City Limits Deluxe with ThroBaks, Premium Quilt, Tobacco Sunburst
Offered is this superb 2017 Collings City Limits Deluxe. The City Limits is Collings' version of the venerable Les Paul, but with a build quality, playability and tone that many players feel are far better than the original.
This guitar has a solid Honduran Mahogany body and neck with an upgraded Quilt Maple top. The 24-7/8" scale length Honduran Mohagany neck has a medium/fat C shape like you would find on a '59 LP (.865" - .975"). It has a Madagascar Rosewood fretboard with a 12" radius, 1-11/16" bone nut, parallelogram MOP inlays and medium frets. For electronics, this guitar has upgraded ThroBak ER Custom humbuckers with 50's style wiring with DiMarzio 500K pots and Jupiter caps. It is finished in Tobacco Sunburst nitrocellulous lacquer and has a total weight of 8.3 pounds (8 pounds, 5 ounces).
This guitar plays with incredible ease and sounds fabulous - much like an LP only better! Few LP's can match the performance and playability of this guitar, particularly at this price point. The upgraded ThroBak pickups are just icing on the cake; just check out the brief sound sample provided. This guitar has killer tone!
This is a fabulous piece, but it has been played. From a foot away, this guitar looks fantastic, but zero in with magnification and intense lighting and you will find a bit of play wear, most of which is on the back of the guitar (see photos). These flaws are minor and entirely cosmetic. As evidenced by the included photo, the frets remain in great condition. It comes in it's original Ameritage case, also in great shape, along with the original paperwork.
A new CL Deluxe with these features will cost you at least $6,500 with the upgraded quilt top, fingerboard inlays, purfling and pickups. Get this played but well cared-for 2017 example for $3K less. If you need and/or want an LP style guitar of the highest quality at a great price, this CL will fill the bill, and then some! Make it yours!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
