Description

Offered for your consideration is yet another I-35 from Collings, in this case a top of the line I-35 Deluxe completed in 2011. We sell a lot of I-35's, in their various interations, simply because, in our opinion, the I-35 is the best semi-hollow electric currently being manufactured anywhere, at any price.

This guitar has a solid (not laminated) carved premium flame Maple top with binding and black/white purfling over a semi-hollow Mahogany body with a light weight Alder center block. The Mahogany neck is Collings' medium/fat C-shape, measuring .865" at the first fret, increasing to .995" at the twelfth fret. The highly figured Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard has upgraded parallelogram inlays and binding. The bone nut has a width of 1-11/16", the fretboard radius is 12". The pickups are Lollar Standard Wind Imperials which sound superb in this guitar and have a slightly greater output that the Low Wind humbuckers typically found in this model. The guitar light in weight (6 pounds, 11 ounces) and superbly balanced. This guitar has been given a lovely two tone Tobacco sunburst finish.

These I-35's are a joy to look at, play and listen to. I don't know how Collings does it, but each of their I-35 models plays like it was carved from a single block of wood. This guitar in particular is light and resonant, with a voice that puts any ES-335 to shame (IMHO). Please check out the brief sound sample included herein. No matter what style of music you play, this guitar is a worthy tool for your creativity.

Despite being built in 2011, this guitar remains in near mint condition with no flaws of any significance and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in its original Collings / Ameritage case, also in near mint condition.

A new I-35 Deluxe will cost you close to $7K these days. Get this lightly played 2011 example for far less. Just a marvelous semi-hollow electric ready to please for years to come. Make this beauty yours!
