Description

Offered for your consideration is this custom Collings OM2. Built in 2016, this guitar could easily pass for a new instrument. This guitar was built to be a thoroughbred performce instrument, with high end tonewoods combined with simple yet elegant cosmetics.

This beautiful OM has a clean, straight-grained German Spruce top combined with Wenge back and sides and a short scale (24-7/8") Mahogany neck. A venetian cutaway option was added for upper fret access. The body received pre-war style scalloped Adirondack Spruce bracing. The neck has Collings' Modified V (very soft) neck shape with depth measurements of .84" at the first fret increasing to .93" at the ninth fret. It has a 1-3/4" bone nut and a bone saddle with 2-3/16" string spacing. It was ordered with custom ivoroid cosmetic touches, including dot fingerboard inlays, Collings headstock inlay, string pins and tuner buttons.

While beautiful to behold, you will find this guitar is even better to play and hear. This thing sounds like a grand piano to my old ears - with a bell like clarity that is likely attributable to the exotic Wenge tonewood used. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. Even my poor playing technique cannot hide the fabulous tone of this lovely instrument. It nearly plays itself too, with it's short string scale and a great setup with 12th fret string heights of 3/32" on the low E side and 2/32" on the high E side. It is currently setup with my preferred strings, Elixir Phosphor Bronze lights.

This instrument will come to it's next owner in near mint condtion with no flaws of any significance, frets included. It comes in what appears to be a brand new Collings case. A new Collings OM with these upgrades ($2,500 in total options) would cost you $6.5 grand, but this near new beauty can be yours at a huge discount.

I've named this wonderful guitar "Steinway" because of it's lovely voice. Make this beauty yours today. You will be very glad you did!
