Description

Offered for your consideration is this superb and virtually new 2020 Collings SJ Indian. The original owner only recently purchased this fabulous instrument. Like so many, however, he recently became unemployed and was forced to sell this beauty to help make ends meet. His sad loss may be your gain.

The SJ Indian is a 14-fret "small jumbo" instrument with a 16" wide lower bout. It has a Sitka Spruce top, back and sides made of Indian Rosewood and the neck is made of nicely figured Mahogany. The 14-fret neck has a 25-1/2" scale, 14"-26" compound radius, medium frets and on this guitar, a custom 1-3/4" bone nut. The neck is nice C-shape with depth measurements of .85" at the first fret, increasing to .94" at the twelfth fret. The saddle is bone with 2-3/16" string spacing. It it is tastefully decorated with ivoroid bindings, black and white purflings and a Chevron style backstrip. Both the fretboard and bridge are black Ebony. It is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.

This is a big guitar with a huge voice and it makes both a visual and a sonic statement. If you want to be seen and heard, this is the instrument for you. The tone is big, full and nicely balanced; check out the short sound sample provided and I think you will agree. This guitar plays with great ease and is set up as it came from the factory with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side.

As noted above, this guitar is in virtually new condition and was only recently purchased by the original owner. It shows no flaws of any significance and the frets are spotless, as is the original Collings / TKL case.

The original owner paid $5,375 for this beautiful instrument, but you can make it yours for substantially less. A fabulous Collings acoustic at a terrifc price. Make this big beauty yours today!
