2018 Collings Soco Deluxe with ThroBaks, Factory Phase Switch Dark Cherry Burst
Offered is yet another spectacular Soco Deluxe from the folks at Collings. This Dark Cherry Burst example was built for Willcutt Guitars and was shipped in 2018.
This guitar has a solid, not laminated, premium flame maple top on a semi-hollow Mahogany body with a maple center block and a mahogany neck. It is 15" wide at the lower bout as on their I-35 models (Collings also makes a larger, 16" version of the Soco). It is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer and weighs just 6.8 pounds. It has a short, 24-7/8" string scale and a nice medium/chunky C-shaped neck with measurements of .845" at the first fret increasing to .975" at the twelfth fret. It has a gorgeous dark rosewood fretboard with a 12" radius, a 1-11/16" nut width and optional parallelogram fretboard inlays. The electronics include upgraded ThroBak humbuckers, 500K DiMarzio pots and Jupiter Vintage Yellow caps. Also, this guitar was ordered with a Collings option I've never come across; a factory 'push/pull' switch on the upper volume knob that gives you a cool 'out-of-phase' setting when both pickups are activated. As a "Deluxe" model it has Collings' top-of-the-line cosmetics, including grained ivoroid body, neck and headstock binding with ivoroid control knobs.
Like it's sister model, the I-35, this guitar has a voice that can be clear, warm or biting, depending on the level of attack and gain. It is an incredibly flexible instrument that can do jazz, country, rock or whatever you need it do do. As a Collings, it is built as though carved from a single piece of lumber. The playability, tone and build quality are top notch. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. This guitar remains in superb condition, with only minor flaws, including some very shallow 'amp lean' impressions on the back of the neck and some very light oxidation on the pickup covers (see photos of both). The impressions are virtually imperceptible when playing. The frets look like new. It comes in it's original Collings / Ameritage case which is in 'as new' condition.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
