Danelectro U2 (1956 reissue) Red

Summary: This single cutaway Danelectro '56 in red has a single lipstick P.U. in the neck and 2 in the bridge position to make a humbucker. It is in fine used condition, comes with a hardshell case and has just been setup and restrung by our in house guitar tech with 10 gauge strings and low action.

Body: Semi-hollow body with matte red finish, white ostrich vinyl around the edges and clear D pickguard.

Neck: The 5 bolt neck has a red finish, rosewood fingerboard, coke-bottle headstock, 25” scale length and 1 5/8” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: One single lipstick pickup in the neck, humbucker lipstick in the bridge, concentric volume/tone knobs, 3 way toggle, aluminum nut, white button tuners, rosewood saddle on 4-point adjustable bridge.

Cosmetics: This Danelectro is in very good used shape but does show some minor wear around the body. There are some pick scratches, a little fret wear, some small scuffs around the body, a scratch behind the bridge where the bridge has swung around when the strings were off and some shiny marks in the matte finish. The bridge has a bit of a dip in the center but the saddle is holding strong and there is no issue with playability.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with minor grooves from use and but plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
