2007 (new-old-stock) Deering John Hartford 5 string banjo w/hsc
This fine banjo (2007 but never sold, new-old-stock) has a Granadillo (wood) tone ring and three ply rock maple neck (nice curl!). The rim, resonator and neck are stained dark walnut. The tone ring is 11" in diameter, the resonator flange is one piece cast metal. The resonator is 'pop-on' type for easy removal to play as an open back or for reinstallation. It is said that these banjos mature with time and play like a quality guitar or violin, but it sounds great now. Playability is excellent, the neck has a slender, low profile shape and the set up is perfect. Additional specs below. Comes with original hard case. Lifetime warranty for the original owner. $4450

This Hartford has a big round tone that is full bodied with great bass and sweet highs. With the Grenadillo tone ring it has a more woody ringing tone.
