Description

Summary: This is one of the finest Japanese guitar brands from the 70s and 80s. Electra is a slightly lesser known guitar company but they made superb instruments and this Electra Phoenix is no exception. It has a wonderful maple neck, very Strat like tones from the single coil pickups and really classy brass nut, bridge and knobs giving it tons of sustain.

Body: The body is sort of a cross between a Strat and an SG and is finished in red.

Neck: The maple neck is extremely comfortable, has beautiful grain, there is a maple cap fretboard with 22 frets, 1 5/8” nut width, brass nut and Electra branded tuners.

Pickups/Hardware: It has 3 dynamite single coil pickups with a superb strat-like tone, black covers, 2 ply black pickguard, 1 volume, 1 tone, 3 way switch and an on/off toggle that turns the middle pickup on. There is a high quality brass bridge that has the strings through the back like a tele, brass knobs and 50s style string trees.

Cosmetics: This Electra is in pretty great shape considering its age, but there are some pick scratches on the pickguard and body, scratches in the back and some various small dings around the edges and around the body.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck.
