Yesterday? no it's the way before yesterday. Here is 1958 Epiphone FT-79 Texan. It's very hard to find indeed.
This guitar is a great example of the earliest "Texan". 1958 is the first year for Epiphone FT-79 named as Texan by Gibson. This guitar was made in Gibson Kalamazoo factory using left-over epiphone factory parts. Epiphone made three piece mahogany neck (mahogany-maple-mahogany), and subtle V shape found on 1950s era Epiphones. The brass trussrod cover is direct from Epiphone as well. Short&Fat Headstock with script epiphone logo. Parallelogram position markers on brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Original single-line Kluson Deluxe Pegheads. The serial number on blue epiphone label in sound hole is A-1887.
This guitar is in well played condition, a lot of play wear with finish checking as you can see from pictures. Frets, nut and bridge saddle were changed and very professionally done. The original frets, nut and saddle were kept in newer gibson brown hard case. It has had the back braces re-glued and pickguard re-glued. Other than these issues this guitar is in ALL ORIGINAL and this guitar is done well set up. Ready for professional uses.
Sounds perfect. Very well balanced musically. Low action, pleasure to play with. Perfect gear for epiphone collectors and players.
