Description

Here's a nice, oddball Stratobastard.

It started out its life as a 1979 Strat, a limited Anniversary run. The body, pots, pickguard, switch, knobs, bridge, backplate and neck plate are original to the guitar.

The pickups are old Seymour Duncan replacements with "Seymourized" stickers on the neck and middle pickup. Some Google searching reveals that Duncan labeled a bunch of different pickup models like this and there is quite a bit of back and forth about how he voiced them out there on the web. My takeaway is that they are good sounding replacements, a little hotter in output than some but not overly so, and they're a good fit with the guitar.

The neck is a Fender, year and make unknown. Tuners are replaced, and there's a brass nut installed that seems era-appropriate.

The certificate does not match the serial number on the neckplate. Who knows how this happened. Maybe the original seller had several of these and mixed them up in the shop?

The case is original to the body.

The guitar plays well with no issues and is a candidate for a return to original, if you have the right stuff to do so. Otherwise, it is a great player as-is.
