2003 Fender '58 RI Telecaster (1958 reissue) Blonde Flamed Maple Neck Beautiful Custom Shop

This is a beautiful ’58 Custom Shop Reissue Telecaster built in 2003, before the most recent release of this same model, with an upgraded Flamed Maple neck that was an upcharge.

This guitar has an incredibly flamed maple neck – it’s rare on Custom Shop guitars to find flamed maple of this quality. The neck plays great. Birdseye maple is the common upgraded neck material on these Custom Shop guitars – Finding Flamed Maple like this is rare, and it is an upcharge upgrade that has to be ordered.

This is a NOS (New Old Stock) model, meant to replicate a guitar purchased new in 1958, with none of the phony aging that Fender does on some relic guitars. Over the 20 years this guitar has been around, the finish has sunk into the blue grain, just like on a real one. There are two small check marks on the body, one by the control plate and one below the bridge, but these are authentic check marks that occur on guitars of this age, and add a cool aged factor to the guitar.

I’ve replaced the original harness, and used a vintage capacitor in place of the original. Includes original Tweed
reissue case, certificate, bridge cover, strap, and Fender booklet. 7.25 Fretboard radius is great for bending strings.

White Blonde/Mary Kaye blonde just like the real Tele’s made from 1956 on. “White Blonde” is also written in the control cavity before the finish was applied.

Bridge pickup cavity has the following code written in it from the factory: 478 1851523

The volume and tone control cavity has the code 1851523 written in it.

The original metal bridge has “5-01-03 RL” written in black magic marker.

“58 NOS” is burned into the neck pickup cavity

Body is stamped “Relic”. Fender used Relic bodies for the NOS finish, they just gave the finish a different treatment after it was applied.
