Obviously, we are Tele junkies here at Capital Guitars. Offered here is yet another example, in this case a 90's Telecaster Thinline built in 1998 and in 'like new' condition.
The 90's Thinline model was built between 1997 and 2000 and was based on the American Standard Tele of the time, except of course, for the semi-hollow ash body. It has a maple neck with what was then called a 'Modern C' shape and is an oval C with depth measurements of .82" at the 1st fret increasing to .92" at the 12th. It has a 'Natural' finish with faux tortoise used for the pickguard and body binding (front and back). This one comes with a relatively rare rosewood fingerboard, with a 9.5 radius, medium/jumbo frets and a 1.6875" nut. The pickups are American Tele single coils with a master volume, master tone (with factory 'Delta-Tone' circuit) and a three-way pickup selector. Introduced in 1997, the Delta-Tone (no load) circuit is activated via an soft indent at the '10' position of the master tone knob and is designed to give the bridge pickup a bit more output and clarity. Pull the tone knob back past the '9' position and it functions normally. The guitar has a modern Tele bridge with six saddles and Schaller tuners and it weighs 7.2 pounds.
This sweet Thinline plays and sounds great, like a Tele should, but with a bit of additional warmth and woody resonance from the semi-hollow body and the rosewood fretboard. Please check out the brief sound sample provided below.
Despite being more than two decades old, this lovely guitar could easily be mistaken for a new instrument. The guitar has no flaws of any significance and the frets are spotless. It comes in it's original black tolex case which is in very good condition, along with a bit of the original paperwork and included accessories.
This has got to be one of the cleanest examples of this model available anywhere, particularly one with a rosewood fingerboard! Click the 'Buy Now' button and make this special Tele Thinline yours today. Happy holidays!
