Ever wonder why a re-tweeded Bandmaster costs about half what an original one costs? It's because original tweed simply sounds better than newer tweed, of course. And white PAFs sound better than black ones and refinished guitars sound worse than originals. OK, it's the collector value. I get it. But if you're not a collector and you just want a great playing and reliable Fender tweed, then don't spend the ten G's or more. This one was re-tweeded by the late Larry Rodgers. It was, I'm told, his personal amp. The power transformer and choke are original, the OT is a Mercury. Two of the three speakers (Jensen P10R) are re-coned originals dated '57 and the third is an original smooth cone dated either 53 or 58. The filter caps and coupling caps have been done but the yellow Astrons have been left alone. Bandmasters are much more practical in the real world than the highly regarded Bassman. 26 watts is a lot more user friendly in most venues than 45 watts (and the Bandmaster weighs less).
If you want an original tweed Bandmaster, I've got two of those in stock as well.
