Description

It's a shame I don't have the original cabinet for this 59 Bassman. The cabinet is a good repro (Mojotone?) in excellent condition. The chassis is a super clean 59 5F6-A with its original transformers, all of the yellow Astron caps and vintage Jensens. Two speakers are original cone '59 P10Rs and two are reconed P10S with P10R cones-date coded 52. The speaker wires are replaced. The caps with the cardboard sleeves are replaced -the sleeves were put over the new caps to make them look original. One of the power tube sockets and one preamp tube socket is replaced. All tubes are vintage USA (GE and RCA) except the rectifier. Amp sounds excellent-very clean tones up to around 6 (it goes to 12) and then the sweet, fat overdriven tone the Bassman is famous for comes on. It's loud but manageable. I was waiting to acquire a good 59 cabinet for this one but I've run out of room to store any more amps, so out it goes. I will sell it with modern speakers if you prefer for $6700 (I have a set of Webers I can swap in). Or without speakers for $6500. Just make an offer with a note that you want no speakers or modern ones.
