2000 Fender Closet Classic (1956 reissue) Mary Kaye

Summary: Few things compare to the excellent build quality of the Fender Custom Shops instruments. This Closet Classic ’56 bares many similarities to the famed “Mary Kaye” Stratocaster with its transparent finish showing a beautiful ash body and gold hardware, but sits in a class all its own with the butterscotch hue to the lacquer and incredible “birds eye” figuring all over the maple neck. This classic ships in its original hard-shell case with all the case candy including, COA, whammy bar, back cover, cable and more.

Body: The transparent butterscotch finish over a solid ash body has a plenty of deep, yet natural finish checking all over every inch of its surface and it looks phenomenal. It has a single ply white pickguard.

Neck: A nice full feeling C profile on a beautiful piece of “birdseye” maple, finished in a vintage tinted nitro cellulose laquer. Nut width- 1 5/8” Scale length- 25 ½”

Pickups/Hardware: It has 3 brilliant sounding single coil pickups, 5-way switch, 1 volume, 2 tones, bone nut and all gold hardware.

Cosmetics: This guitar has a lot of deep checking all over the body which looks outstanding and era correct. There are a couple dings/dents in the back of the neck, some wear around the edges of the headstock, and a few dings in the lacquer on the body. Overall this Strat is in great shape and looks incredible. The frets have a small amount of wear to them but it does not hinder playability and they are still high with plenty of life left on them.

Playability: This Strat feels absolutely amazing. The action is low, the frets are polished and smooth, and our in-house luthier has just set it up and restrung it with a new set of 10s.
