Description

Summary:  Built as an upgrade to the Coronado I, the Coronado II Bass added binding to the F-holes, block inlays, and a second pickup at the bridge position. The Coronado II Bass used a Maple body and neck
and a Rosewood fingerboard. Production on these basses lasted until 1972, as the entire hollow-body Coronado line was phased out.

Body: Double rounded cutaway semi-hollow fully bound maple body with bound f-holes and an arched top.

Neck: Bolt-on maple neck with a fully bound rosewood fingerboard and block inlays, 21 frets. The frets on this bass guitar are in good condition and have a lot of life left in them. The nut width is 1 9/16” and the scale length is 30.25”.

Pickups/Hardware: Two single coil covered pickups, 2
volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, 3 –way switch, chrome hardware, open back Fender tuning keys, 2 finger rests, adjustable aluminum bridge with a trapeze tailpiece that includes an ebony insert & a pearl “F” inlay.

Cosmetics: This vintage Fender looks awesome from
across the room but it does show some wear & tear from being played &
loved over the years. There is some wear that shows around the edges of the headstock and a few small nicks on the top where the cherry red finish has been chipped off. The finish has a very nice weather checking. The back of this bass guitar does have some buckle wear as well as  some nicks & dings – all of this wear is consistent with a loved and well cared for vintage instrument from the 1960’s and there is no structural damage – this bass is ready to go. There is an imprint on the back of the bass from where a strap was left in the case.

Playability: This vintage Fender plays great! The action is comfortable and this instrument plays with no buzzing or dead spots on the neck. We put new strings on this old Fender & had it set up by our in-house tech so it is ready to be played and loved.

Weight: 6 lbs.,   14 oz.

Case: Non-original hardshell case – this case is a cool old school wooden case (similar to an old school coffin case) with brown exterior and green interior.
