Summary: Once again the Fender Custom shops masterful hands have recreated a legendary guitar. Far from just a reissue, they have matched all the aesthetics and vintage specs of the 1959 slab board Stratocaster but improved upon the things that count. This one is in phenomenal shape, plays outstandingly well and has all the cool factory distressing and patina. It ships in its original brown tolex hardshell case, with COA, spec sheet and case candy.

Body: Broken in, but not beat up Journeyman Relic faded sonic blue lacquer finish on a lightweight alder body with a one ply white parchment pickguard.

Neck: 1959 spec C flame maple neck with a nice worn in feel to its back, a slab rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5” radius, medium tall frets, bone nut, 25.5” scale length and 1 5/8” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Hand-wound 1959 correct pickups give you the '50s chime and vintage modified wiring gives you full range of tones with 5 way switch, 1 volume and 2 tones. The vintage style tuning keys and vibrato-bridge have just a slight patina.

Cosmetics: This guitar have all the tasteful factory relicing, it does not look beat up, just old and slightly used, it has a lot of finish checking on the body, some patina to the hardware, a few chips in the lacquer and sanded down neck for softer feel. The frets are in great shape.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
