Description

Offered here is this 2016 Fender Custom Shop Post Modern Journeyman Relic Stratocaster. The name is long, but the principle simple; a factory-aged, 60's style Stratocaster with the modern specs that most players want.

This guitar has a light weight, two piece Ash body with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish and Journeyman-level (between 'Closet Classic' and 'Relic') aging. It has a total weight of just 7.6 pounds. The quartersawn, 25.5" scale length Maple neck has a 60's C-shape with depth measurements of .82" at the 1st fret and .95" at the 12th with most of the finish removed for a smooth comfortable playing feel. The fretboard has a particularly dark Indian Rosewood fretboard with a 9.5"-12" compound radius, 6105 fret wire and a 1.650" nut. The pickups consist of three Fat 60's single coils with the middle pickup reverse wound/reverse polarity. The controls include a master volume, two tone controls and a five-way pickup selector.

To my way of thinking, this Strat has the perfect combination of modern specs (flatter fretboard radius and bigger frets) and vintage style (moderately aged finish). The tone and playability are superb and it is light and extremely comfortable to play, even for long periods. This is an instrument that most players will be immediately comfortable with.

This guitar is sold in unplayed condition. Other than putting on a new set of strings and briefly testing it, I don't believe this guitar has seen any play. The frets are flawless. It comes in it's mint G&G case with all the original accessories, including the Cruz Tools. New examples sell for approximately $3,500; this unplayed 2016 guitar can be had for $1K less.

If you are looking for an unplayed, no-nonsense, Fender Custom Shop Relic Strat at a decent price, here you go!
