~1965 Fender Deluxe 8 Blonde

Summary: This is a beautifully cared for, vintage Fender Deluxe 8 string lap steel guitar. Crafted in the 60’s, and often associated with the Fender Stringmaster line of lap steels for its similarities in neck design and electronic configuration.

Body/neck: This Fender Deluxe has a nicely aged Olympic white ash construction and includes the original removable legs. Scale length-22 ½”

Pickups/Hardware: The Fender Deluxe has two single-coil pickups with black plastic covers. The blend is achieved by a small wheel attached to a pot that sits just behind the bridge. The bridge pick-up is always on, and the neck pickup could be fed in to taste using the blend pot. Because the pickups were wired with reversed polarities, blending in the neck pickup caused the pickup configuration to be "hum-bucking". Basically the pickup design was a Humbucker split in half and mounted as two interconnected units. There is a master volume and tone to control it from there.

Cosmetics: This instrument shows some signs of honest play wear but nothing major. It is in fantastic shape considering its age.

Playability: This Fender Deluxe has been setup with a new set of strings and is an overall lovely playing instrument.
Modifications: The original tuning keys were replaced.
