2005 Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster Candy Apple Red
Summary: This is a wonderful 2005 Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster in a beautiful Candy Apple Red finish (discontinued April 2014)! This instrument has had the bridge pickup replaced with a Seymour Duncan pickup and it doesn’t come with the original case, but the instrument plays & sounds great.
Body: Solid body double cutaway Stratocaster with a Candy Apple Red finish. 2-piece, deep contoured body with a ’57 style lightweight Alder body and a Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish.
Neck: 1 piece quartersawn soft “V” shape vintage tinted maple neck with 21 frets, black dot inlays, vintage style tuning keys, lots of character in the wood, skunk stripe on the back of the neck. This neck has a 12” radius with highly polished medium jumbo frets. The scale length is 25.5” and the nut width is 1.650”.
Pickups/Hardware: 2 original special design Eric Johnson single coil pickups with countersunk mounting screws– the bridge pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan double blade (humbucker in a single coil slot). Chrome hardware, vintage style tuning keys, one master volume, 2 tone knobs, 5-way switch. This instrument has a 1-ply parchment pickguard. This instrument has a special neckplate with the engraved EJ on the back. 1957 style body cavities. Height staggered vintage style tuning keys which eliminates the need for string trees. Vintage tremolo with silver painted block and ’57 style string recess (no paint between base plate & block), 5 tremelo springs & no back tremolo cover plate.
Cosmetics: This EJ Stratocaster is in great shape – there are signs of wear with various dings on the body & scratches on the pickguard. There are also a few places around the neck pocket where the tiniest amount of red finish has been chipped off but overall this baby is in good shape & ready to be played and loved for years to come.
Playability: This EJ Strat plays great! We recently set this instrument up with 10’s and the neck is straight, the action is low & comfortable & the guitar plays great up & down the fingerboard.
Modifications: The bridge pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan pickup.

Case: This instrument doesn’t have the original case but we will ship it with a gig bag & it comes with the whammy bar too!
