Description

Summary: The early days of the Fender Custom shop produced some of the most unique and high quality Fenders to date. This one was modeled after a gold Stratocaster made for Homer Hanes of Homer and Jethro back in 1957. It has a stunning gold finish, anodized gold pickguard, gold hardware and nice chunky maple neck and fingerboard. The guitar is in fantastic condition, has just been setup and restrung by our guitar tech and it plays beautifully. The original tweed case is full of case candy, extra springs, 5 way switch, white pickguard, Fender guitar strap and more! This one is #64 or 500 made.

Body: Solid Stratocaster body with shoreline gold finish and gold anodized pickguard.

Neck: The chunky maple neck has a 7.25” radius, 25.5” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width and gold tuners.

Pickups/Hardware: 3 custom shop single coil pickups, 3 way switch, volume, 2 tones, gold hardware, synchronized trem and comes with a white pickguard and 5 way switch.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent shape but does have a few dents in the finish exposing a blue undercoat. There is also a little crinkle in the finish around the neck plate. There is a small crack in the back plate plastic around one of the screws.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
