Summary: The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960 as a higher-end alternative to the Precision Bass with closer string spacing, a thinner neck profile at the nut, and two punchy single-coil pickups. The Jazz Bass evolved in a number of subtle ways throughout the 60s with major changes coming during the CBS Fender buyout of 1965. This bass is solid black with a black pickguard. This JB has a maple neck with black block inlays.

Body: Offset solidbody

Neck: Fully bound Maple neck with a maple cap & black block inlays. The frets are in good shape with plenty of life left but they do show normal wear for an instrument from the early 70's.

Electronics/Hardware: Two single-coil pickups. Two volume and one master tone control with black knobs. Open-gear “Fender”-stamped tuners. 4 bolt neck with a Black pickguard. This bass has an aftermarket 62 Fender replacement bridge pickup and the bridge has been changed. This bass has one non-original potentiometer.

Cosmetics: This bass guitar shows normal wear & tear for its age - there are dings & nicks on the body and one noticeable ding on the back of the neck. This instrument has some nice checking that adds character to the bass. This bass looks totally awesome! The instrument has been routed for humbuckers and the pickguard has been changed.

Playability: This bass plays great - the neck has that vintage Fender feel and the tone is fantastic!

Weight: 9 lbs, 5 oz.

Case: Original hard shell case
