Starting in the late '80s, Fender began producing a classic-styled Jazz Bass in a newly open plant in Ensenada, Mexico dubbed the Standard Jazz Bass. These Basses (often referred to as MIM for Made in Mexico) are considered excellent beginner or utility instruments, and have been offered in a number of different configurations over the years. This particular Jazz Bass is fretless, with a rosewood fingerboard and a gorgeous candy apple red finish.

Body: It most likely has an alder body. It is finished in candy apple red and is topped off with a 3 ply white pickguard.

Neck: The neck is maple with a nice thin Jazz Bass profile, a fretless rosewood fretboard with white fretboard markers, back skunk stripe and big vintage style tulip tuning keys.

Pickups/Hardware: It has 2 single coil jazz bass pickups which I suspect could be upgraded pickups because of the cloth wire (which is usually used on higher end pickups) but I cannot be sure since the back of the pickups are covered in foam which has covered and masked any name indication. It has 2 volumes and a tone knob.

Cosmetics: This bass is in fine shape and shows only very minor sign of players wear such as some scuffs on the control plate and one small chip in the neck pocket. There is also a small hole drilled into the front of the headstock that I suspect happened when they were drilling from the back for the tuners.

Playability: This guitar plays wonderfully up and down the fretboard. Our in house luthier has inspected and set up this bass with low action and a straight neck. The truss rod works flawlessly.

Modifications: It has a Squire neck-plate and is missing its pickup and bridge covers.

Weight: 8 lbs 2 oz.

Case: This bass does not include a case but we will ship it fully packed, padded and insured!
