1966 Fender Mustang Olympic White with Original Hardshell Case

Summary: This Mustang has a well-aged Olympic White finish with lots of finish checking and yellowing and plays even better than it looks. The pickups sound jangly and lush, the neck feels solid and fills up the hand nicely and the rosewood fretboard is dark and rich. This one sounds really vibrant even when played acoustically. It has just been setup and restrung by our in house luthier and ships in its original hard-shell case with whammy bar.

Body: Double cutaway offset body with the original Olympic White finish and lots of finish checking and yellowing. Topped off with the original 3 ply tortoise guard.

Neck: B width maple neck, veneer rosewood board, bone nut, 24” scale length and 1 5/8” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Original grey bottom single coil pickups with white covers, on/off/on switches for each pickup, volume, tone, Dynamic Fender Vibrato unit with 6 barrel saddles and F stamped tuners with white buttons. This Mustang does include the whammy bar but it won’t stay in very good & the tremolo unit is missing the set screw that is needed to tighten the bar in place.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great vintage condition but does have some natural wear, yellowing in the finish and checking in the lacquer. A fair amount of the finish has chipped off the lower bout near the strap button, exposing the wood underneath. It also has a crack in between the 2 pieces of the body which is visible but looks solid.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots.

Modifications: The 2 on/off/on switches have been replaced.
