1966 Fender Mustang Refinished Dakota Red

Summary: This 1966 Fender Mustang is the perfect guitar for someone to dip their toes into the vintage guitar game! Even though the hardware has been changed and the body professionally refinished, the neck remains original and feels exactly how you want a 60s Fender neck to feel. The frets have also just been leveled, crowned and they feel smooth and polished. Our in-house guitar tech has just setup and restrung this beauty and it plays great up and down the nitrocellulose finished neck.

Body: The body is original although it has been refinished in a metallic Dakota red.

Neck: The neck is original from 1966 and the finish and frets are original and feel great. It has a 24” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, bone nut and veneer rosewood fingerboard.

Pickups/Hardware: All of the hardware is aftermarket Mustang hardware, 2 single coil pickups, 2 on/off/on pickup selectors, pearloid pickguard, large barrel vintage style mustang bridge with cover, Mustang vibrato unit with bar, volume, tone and nice vintage style tuners with ivoroid tuning pegs.

Cosmetics: There is a unique pattern of wear on the back of the neck where the finish has worn off and turned a darker color, plenty of finish checking especially on the headstock and by the heel. The body is in excellent shape with just a few minor scuffs and dings in its refinished surface.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape and have just been leveled and dressed. It plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: This vintage Fender has been refinished in metallic Dakota red, all of the hardware is aftermarket.
