Description

This incredible gem of a '51 Nocaster features Tadeo Gomez's initials with body and neck dates stamped "TG 5-10-51" and "TG 5-14-51. It came to us from the son of its original owner, a Washington Native who kept it in the Pacific Northwest throughout its entire lifespan. Many of you may know the history of the Nocaster, originally dubbed the Broadcaster until Fred Gretsch sent a friendly letter to Leo Fender politely requesting a name change as Gretsch had a line of "Broadkaster" drums ~ Leo's response was to simply remove the logo thus resulting in a handful of "Nocasters" until they settled on "Telecaster" in late '51 so this is one of only a few hundred produced. Excellent cosmetically with typical player's wear, dings, worn edges, and remnants from letters that spelled "DIG" with a faint discoloration remaining on the top. Plays amazingly with replaced frets for a smooth updated feel with a super cozy soft "V" neck contour that feels great up and down. Pleasantly lightweight and super resonant for effortless vintage clarity from the original PUs. Outside of the frets, the only other modifications are a shimmed nut and replaced pots dated to '82. This is an incredible guitar, an important piece of Fender's history, and it plays great! Reach out with any questions and stay tuned for our upcoming video feature! Includes original hardshell case.
