1962 Fender Precision Bass, Slab board, all original. Arguably the best year for the slab P Bass as the necks began to become more full after the very thin necks of '59 and '60.
The bass has a fair bit of wear on the body, but no damage or mods other than one relocated strap button hole, and a very small crack in the guard near the jack. The original nitrate guard is otherwise in excellent condition, with little shrinkage or warpage.
All electronics, hardware, and plastic is original, and the original pickup and bridge covers are included.
The original frets are in surprisingly good condition, as the bass was likely played with flat wounds. It is currently strung up with a brand new set of D'Addario 45-105 round wound bass strings.
The serial number is 75XXX. The bass weighs 8.5 lbs. minus the covers. The original pickup set measures 11.0K Ohms. The medium "C" profile neck measures .816" at 1st fret and .985" at 12th fret.
The bass ships in the original Gold lined, brown Tolex case. Not going to sugar coat this one, the case is pretty beat, with some repairs, and two replaced latches. That said the case is fully functional with all hinges and latches working.
